Why Chiang Mai?
Established more than 700 years ago as the capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai is now considered to be the cultural capital of the country. The number of art and cultural spaces in the city is increasing each year, attracting art practitioners from all over the globe. Beyond the city center, art residencies, arty coffee shops, artist studios can be found scattered in the mountains and rice fields giving a unique charm to the region.
